Hindle Wakes
30 November 1998 to 9 January 1999
by Stanley Houghton
directed by Helena Kaut-Howson
On 15 June 1996 an IRA bomb shook
Manchester to its very core and cut short the
production of Hindle Wakes, Stanley Houghton's celebration of Manchester
life.
This revival of Helena Kaut-Howson's
original production has been specially chosen to open the refurbished home of the Royal
Exchange Theatre Company, giving audiences the opportunity to see the play they thought
they'd missed for ever and celebrate the dawning of a new era.
