The Royal Exchange Theatre - and our visiting productions - have been nominated for 17 Manchester Theatre Awards!
Awards season is upon us and an amazing year of theatre at the Royal Exchange has been duly awarded with 17 nominations from the Manchester Theatre Awards for shows across 2014!
On the back of winning the CityLife Award for Best Play HAMLET has received three nominations - including Best Actress for Maxine Peake, and Best Supporting Actress for Gillian Bevan and Claire Benedict.
They face tough competition from Suranne Jones who has also been nominated for Best Actress for her starring role in ORLANDO; Molly Gromadzki for Best Supporting Actress, also in ORLANDO and for Katie Moore for Best Supporting Actress in BILLY LIAR.
Over in the male camp - we've received five nominations across the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor categories - including Michael Hugo in AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, Harry McEntire in BILLY LIAR and Dan Parr in BRITANNIA WAVES THE RULES - all for Best Actor.
And for Best Supporting Actor, nominated is Daragh O'Malley in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF and Nuno Silva in our current production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS - which runs until 31 January 2015.
We've also been nominated in the Best Production category for AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, for Best Musical and Best Design for LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Best Newcomer for Emily Barber in BILLY LIAR, and Ellie Kendrick and Sinead Matthews receive a nomination each in the Best Studio Performance category for PESTS.
The winners will be announced in a glitzy ceremony on 13 March at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester - fingers crossed for all of our nominees and congratulations and best of luck to all nominees.
