What are the types of works are being shown in the exhibition? 
• Painting and Prints 
• Illustration and Drawing 
• Photography 
• Sculpture and Object 
• Digital/Mixed Media (Any digital media will be shown on a projector on a loop, if language is used subtitles are essential. Pieces can be maximum 10 minutes long).

Who can enter?
Anyone aged 5+, there will be three categories. Junior (5-10), Young Person (11-16), Adult (16+). Children under the age of 13 must have their work submitted by a parent/guardian or teacher. For anyone under 18, we will need the contact details of a parent or guardian.

What can I win? 
The opportunity to have your artwork on exhibition during the festival at the Ukrainian Centre, free tickets to a Royal Exchange Theatre performance. The Junior and Young Person categories will ALSO receive a free drama workshop for your school class.

How can I enter my work?
Please complete this form when you have completed your artwork, it will ask for some basic information from you and a picture or video file of your work. Each person can submit a maximum of two pieces into the competition.  

You can also submit your work in person at the Royal Exchange Theatre, just come into the building and mention McrCr8 on these days:
Monday 27th June 3-5pm
Wednesday 29th June 3-5pm
Saturday 2nd July 2-5pm.

Ensure you leave with your artwork a note with your name, number, address, age and a short description about your work.

Judging 
We will judge each artwork anonymously, without knowing the artist's name. Our judges will be looking for the pieces that celebrate and reflect Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall. 

Competition Rules 
1. The Den Art Competition is open to anyone who lives, works or has a connection to Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall. 
2. The three age categories are: Primary School (ages 5-10), Secondary School (11-16), Adults (16+). 
3. We can only accept two entries per person (if you send more than two, we will only judge the first two you submit) 
4. The piece must be an original piece of work. 
5. The entrant/s must exclusively own and control all copyright and all other related rights to the submitted piece. 
6. The submitted piece must be available for displaying in the exhibition and unattached to any other arts company or institution. 
7. We do accept group submissions.

What is the Den Art Competition? 
An art competition created to celebrate the creativity of people from Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall. Artwork entered will be displayed around the Den festival. We are asking people to share creativity about their area and celebrate their community. Paint your favourite building, photograph your colleagues, create a short video sharing your day, draw your own special map of the area. Get creative and share with us why you love where you live. The Den is curated by members of your community, and they want your artwork on display.  

What is the Den? 
The Den is a pop-up performance space which is a key part of the Local Exchange programme at the Royal Exchange Theatre, which sees the theatre take up residency in communities across Greater Manchester. It builds upon existing partnerships, develops new connections and brings together people, places and artists to cement long-lasting relationships with the communities right outside our doors. The programme is curated by the Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall Ambassadors, residents that ensure the programme is relevant to their community. 

Where and when will the Exhibition take place? 
The artwork will be displayed during the Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall Den festival which will take place at the Ukrainian Centre in July and August 2022.  

Who is eligible to submit? 
There are three categories Adult (16+), Secondary Schools (11-16), Primary School (5-10). Children under the age of 13 must have their work submitted by a parent/guardian or teacher. For anyone under 18, we will need to contact details of a parent or guardian. 

Do you need a proof of address? 
No, but we ask you to share a valid Cheetham Hill or Crumpsall postcode or share the connection you have with the area. 

Will the exhibition be open for the public to attend? 
Yes, the exhibition will on display during the festival, with opportunities for the public to see the work for free before each event.

Will everything that is submitted be shown in the exhibition? 
No, submissions will be reviewed by the judging panel, a selection will be chosen with winning pieces receiving prizes. 

Is there a fee to submit work? 
No, the competition is free to enter.
