THE FUTURE OF THE THEATRE
A STATEMENT FROM OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM: ROYAL EXCHANGE THEATRE CLOSES ITS STAGES UNTIL AUTUMN 2020
Resources to accompany the Royal Exchange Theatre production of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF by Tennessee Williams. Directed by James Dacre.
RESOURCE EXTRA: Assistant Director Dan Hutton wrote a rehearsal blog to give students a special insight into the CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF rehearsal room. In this pack, you will find Dan’s weekly blog posts as well as some production photos and classroom activities. The activities have been created with Key Stage 4 and 5 Drama, Theatre Studies and English students in mind, although many of them can be adapted for younger age groups. The activities aim to help students explore significant features of the rehearsal process and production.
BECOMING A THEATRE CRITIC: The best piece of advice for a budding theatre critic is the same piece of advice given to writers in all mediums – find your voice. The thing that will make your review interesting to read – and to write – is the fact that it is unique to you. Use this resource to be BOLD and work out what your opinion is. This resource can be used alongside CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF or independently.
