TRAIN

DESPITE THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF OUR MAGNIFICENT BUILDING, THE ROYAL EXCHANGE WILL BE RUNNING CHILDREN'S COMPANY: TRAIN USING ONLINE PLATFORMS TO DELIVER QUALITY FUN AND CREATIVITY TO YOUR HOMES!

Over the course of three days, during the Easter holidays, we will be sending out links to video workshops. At 4pm on the video release day, we’ll also be offering an online, interactive workshop for your child to show others what they’ve created and share their work!

The workshops are designed for 11-13 year olds, however children aged 9 and 10 are welcome to join, they just might need a bit of extra support.

WEDNESDAY 15 APRIL

PERFORMING A SPEECH

During this activity, we’ll look at helpful skills you can use when tackling any monologue. We’ll use these skills to work on our own monologues and there will be a chance for you to perform yours at our 4pm catch up!

THURSDAY 16 APRIL

CREATING YOUR OWN CHARACTER

Every fictional character you know and love has started from the same beginning, someone’s imagination. In this activity we’ll talk you through the steps to creating your own fictional characters and how we can bring them to life.

FRIDAY 17 APRIL

IMAGINING YOUR CHARACTER'S WORLD

Using the characters we have created, we’re going to look at extending the world around them and visualising what that might look like. It’ll be your choice whether to do this through drawings, mixed media, writing, voice recording, the choice is yours! If you haven’t been to the other workshops, that’s fine, you’ll be able to pick a character you know or make one up beforehand.

You and welcome to sign up to one, two or all three workshops. We’ll be sending out a new video link and interactive workshop link each morning over the three days for you to play with your child. Feel free to watch and re-watch the videos and complete them in your own time.

To get involved, please complete the registration forms below the workshops. Please note, if you wish to sign up to more than one workshop, you will need to complete multiple registration forms.
