Each year we commission several short stories, secrets, confidences and confessions in the form of pop up monologues from some of the UK’s most exciting playwrights. From intimate confessions to foot-stomping polemics – our audience discover these stories around The Great Hall. This is a paid opportunity for early career directors to focus their attention on one writer, one voice and one actor (without technical support) leading to a durational run of all the work over 4 hours in the Module.
“It has been brilliant to work with the Royal Exchange and I am very proud to have been part of this project and make a tiny contribution to the 70th anniversary of Partition – thank you so much for inviting me to be involved.” Satinder Chohan, Writer of Jai Hind Pakistan Zindabad, Come Closer 2017
"It was a beautiful and really important show. The stories that you told should never be forgotten" Teacher, Abraham Moss Community School, Come Closer 26 Sep 2017
