Release your wild imaginations and ignite a sense of fun and freedom with FLYING SAUCERS, led by professional theatre maker Kate Colgrave Pope. Playing lots of drama games, your child will make friends whilst building confidence and having fun, creating their own play to perform at the Royal Exchange.

Each week we will be working together to create our very own Christmas show to share at the end of term. We will be learning songs, dressing up, playing drama games and firing our imaginations to create a confidant young performer for a cracker of a show!

THE SHOW MUST GO ON! AGES 8 - 11 (1PM - 2.30PM)
This term we will be creating our very own theatre company - with its very own ethos established by our young budding actors. Using theatre games and story telling techniques, song and music, devising and text work, will be putting on Christmas show to remember.

DATES: Sunday 17 September - Sunday 3 December (sharing day)

Biography: Kate Colgeave Pope

Kate trained as an actor at The Drama Centre London and recently finished her MFA in Theatre Directing, graduating with distinction from Birkbeck University.

Between 2015/2016 Kate was on placement at the Royal Exchange Theatre as our in-house assistant director. Her assisting credits include; The Night Watch, Wit, Into The Woods, The Crucible (Royal Exchange Theatre), To Kill a Mocking Bird (The Octagon), Crying in The chapel (Contact).

Alongside this Kate also works as an acting practitioner for Drama Schools around the country.

She also facilitated and leads theatre workshops for young people and has previously worked for The Carol Godby School, Contact’s CYC, Spear Fish and Theatre Train.

She also had the privilege to assisted on some of Theatre Train’s performances at the O2 Dome and Royal Albert Hall in London.

Kate passionately believes in celebrating young people’s individual gifts and nurturing and igniting their imaginations.
