Flying Saucers is our out-of-this-world Sunday programme for families and children.
Events, activities and workshops for under 11s are scheduled on Sundays throughout the year, including storytelling sessions, craft workshops, Hard Hat Sundays and entertainment for all the family. Some workshops are age-restricted and ticketed, so it’s a good idea to book in advance as they can be very popular. Check out our What's On & Tickets section.
'We had a great time today. My son is a bit shy with new people, particularly groups so me being able to join in meant he was relaxed. He loved it so did I and we would love to come again.' A mother who attended SWORDS & STORMS event, November 2015
Children can also join our friendly Flying Saucer Drama Clubs for ages 5 – 7 and 8 – 11. Working with a professional theatre maker, children will play games, make new friends and have a go at creating their own plays to perform at the Royal Exchange.
We also have:
- Easy access for prams and pushchairs via the lift in St Ann’s Square
- A Family Friendly environment, with a big space, where small people can enjoy roaming around
- Café Exchange, which sells children’s lunch packs
- Free Theatre Explorer Bags available from the Information Point, with lighting gels, fabrics, objects and activity cards for children aged 3-7 to begin exploring our building.
