This month the work of the Royal Exchange can been seen and heard across the BBC air-waves.
A brand-new version of Sarah Frankcom’s critically acclaimed hit The Skriker will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Scuttlers, seen on stage in February 2015, features in the new BBC 2 documentary series The Secret History of My Family.
On Sunday 20 March Caryl Churchill’s fantastical play The Skriker will be aired. This new-for-radio production brings the formidable team of Exchange Artistic Director Sarah Frankcom and Associate Artist Maxine Peake back together after the success of their stage version of Churchill’s unsettling exploration of environmental change. Maxine Peake once again tackles this extraordinary role – a shape-shifter, a faerie, a vision of the future – for which she received a wealth of critical acclaim last summer. Tune into BBC Radio 3 at 9pm this Sunday for your change to experience this incredible piece of work again.
BBC 2’s The Secret History of My Family began last week, it explores the incredible stories of families as told by their descendants. On Thursday 24 March the show explores the dramatic life of the Salford Scuttlers and features clips from our dramatic production of Rona Munro’s play Scuttlers.
