CREATING DRAMA

Take part in fun drama exercises and activities and work towards a performance in our brand new pop-up theatre space the Den, in Stalybridge. Participants will also gain an Arts Award certificate.

WHEN? Monday 5 – Friday 9 August 10.30am – 4.30pm Dukinfield Methodist Church
Performance – 13 August the Den, Stalybridge Civic Hall

WHO’S IT FOR? Anyone aged 10 – 13, interested in drama and keen to try new things!

FILM-MAKING

Learn the basic skills of film making on your phone. Go out and about, shooting scenes and creating content for your very own film. You’ll work towards a screening in our brand new pop-up theatre the Den, in Stalybridge. Participants will also gain an Arts Award certificate.

GET PHYSICAL - CREATING THEATRE

If you’d like to work with a group of adults to create a show without a script – then step right up. Director Jennifer Jackson will work with Dukinfield residents to create a theatre piece, that uses expression, movement and gestures to express ideas. This new work will be for, and about Dukinfield. 

WHEN? Rehearsals: 29 – 31 July & 1, 2, 10 August 11am – 4pm Dukinfield Methodist Church

PLUNGEBLOOM - THE ALLOTMENT

Together with Jigsaw Homes, The Pantry Volunteers and Plungeboom – we’re going to transform a small allotment on the Dukinfield estate which needs some TLC. Come along and get stuck in with the Vegetable Nannies – and look after some baby fruits and vegetables. Meet Barbara the downhill racing watermelon, and David the talented little Marrow whose ambition is to become a stage actor!

WHEN? 29 July – Allotment clean-up day, 30 July – catch the walkabout performances all around Dukinfield Central, 31 July – Performances on the allotment at 12pm, 2pm & 4pm

TAMESIDE ELDERS COMPANY

Following the success of the Royal Exchange Elders Company, we are creating a Tameside Elders Company at AGE UK for residents to create a piece of theatre to be performed in the Den.

WHEN? Monday sessions at 11am – 1pm. Weekly from 8 July – 12 August (11 – 4pm)
13 August – Performance Day

WHO’S IT FOR? Tameside residents aged 55+

13 – 24 AUGUST THE DEN, AT STALYBRIDGE CIVIC HALL

Look out for the Den – a brand new pop-up theatre that will be resident in Stalybridge Civic Hall in August, and hosting a 2 week Festival!
