This is an opportunity for Greater Manchester SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) Schools to work in partnership with the Royal Exchange Theatre to devise a brand-new piece of work to be performed on our main stage

Students will work with professional, Royal Exchange practitioners to perfect a 10-15-minute piece of work, created from their own ideas.

Teacher will be invited to attend a CPD in November which will expand capabilities in harnessing their students’ creative talents and will be an opportunity to skill share across the schools and theatre.

Each school can also nominate Festival Producers and Festival Technicians, who will gain hands on experience from our Royal Exchange Theatre staff across the process.

For more information on the festival, and a breakdown of the dates including expected commitments from both the school and the theatre, please see our briefing document.

Making Drama Workshop

Invite your pupils to turn on their creativity through our theatre making workshop. Our expert practitioner will take learners through different exercises used to create their very own play, before they then get the opportunity to perform this!

By the end of this workshop, your students will:

1) Feel liberated enough to be bold
2) Play and learn without judgement
3) Have worked as a team creatively
4) Stand up in front of their class, speak and share ideas
