A Flock of Words @ The Den in M8

Part of The Den in M8 festival.

Join us in the Den for a fun and fiery evening of spoken word poetry. Featuring local artists from the Cheetham Hill community, plus special guests from the cream of Manchester’s diverse poetry scene, such as PA Bitez and Nasima Bee. Hosted by award-winning writer and performer, Ben Mellor.

Since publishing Soft Tortures, her debut poetry book at 16, Princess Arinola (PA Bitez) has won Slambassadors, BBC Words First 2020, Common Word's Going Digital and One Mic Stand. She’s been commissioned by Ripples of Hope Festival, MIF, Selfridges, and the BBC. She is a member of Young Identity and a musical artist on MIF Sounds.

Nasima Begum (aka Nasima Bee on stage) is a performance poet, producer and creative practitioner. Nasima uses art as a means of activism and her work is an exploration of loss, a celebration of femininity and an observance of the world.
