WE‘RE EXCITED TO NOW BE OFFERING A BLEND OF ONLINE AND IN-PERSON ACTIVIES.

THE NEXT ELDERS MONDAY IS ON MONDAY 4 OCTOBER

We recognise it’s really important for people to STAY CONNECTED, continue the things they enjoy and REMAIN CREATIVE. You can take part on Zoom with creative writing and play-reading sessions WRITE and OUTLOUD. You don’t need a Zoom account, we will send you a link when you book on. We can also support you to get set up.

The Royal Exchange Elders Company has without doubt been a lifeline for me... I had never used Zoom before so this in itself was a challenge but again with the help of the staff all my fears of Zooming were overcome." Ann, 81

NOW you can also take part in-person with our fun drama sessions PLAY.

ELDERS WRITE (ONLINE): Writing workshop (takes place at the new time 11am – 1pm) £5

Similar to our regular creative writing sessions, this session will help you start your day, indeed your week, with some stimulus to write. Each week will focus on a different area of writing for performance, for example, Character, Structure, Dialogue.

ELDERS OUTLOUD (ONLINE): Play-reading and discussion (takes place 11am - 1pm) £5

Similar to our regular play-reading group, we will read a play out loud together and then discuss our responses to it. You can read a part, join the discussion or simply listen.

ELDERS PLAY (IN-PERSON): Practical drama workshop (takes place 2pm - 4pm) £5

Our regular practical drama workshop is back in-person! A drama specialist will lead a mix of fun games, creative play, improvisation and devising techniques. No experience necessary, just come and have fun. We will continue to follow Covid Safe practises including social distancing and mask wearing. More information will be sent upon booking.

For our online sessions, we are aware that taking part will depend on people’s internet access and their ability to connect via Zoom – however, we will continue to support people as much as we can to join sessions, including a guide for joining Zoom and one-to-one telephone support to help you get started (call Claire Brown on 0161 615 6721). You can also find out how this free app works here and learn how to join a meeting here.

Please note we are sliding our prices back towards pre-pandemic levels. In response to the Covid crisis, we reduced the cost of sessions from £6 to £4. Like many arts organisations, we are facing challenging financial times, so we are increasing our sessions costs slightly to £5 per session. Arts Pot support is still available for those

Greater Manchester residents facing financial barriers as we believe being creative is for everyone. Please contact Claire Brown on 0161 615 6721 to find out more about Arts Pot, which will enable to you to access sessions for free or at a reduced rate, depending on your circumstances.
