For Royal Exchange Members Only
The Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting 2019 closed for entries on 5 June and 2,561 entries have been carefully whittled down by an army of around 200 readers to a shortlist of 15 scripts! These final 15 have since been read by the 2019 panel of judges, chaired by Kwame Kwei-Armah, Artistic Director of the Young Vic. The nine-strong panel includes Bruntwood Prize-winning playwright Anna Jordan (YEN), journalist, poet and critic Bridget Minamore and actor Shane Zaza (FRANKENSTEIN).
The winner will be announced at the Bruntwood Prize Ceremony hosted by Ralf Little on Monday 4 November at the Royal Exchange Theatre, followed by a drinks reception with canapes and live music in The Great Hall.
