Dominoes and Dahlias (+Oware!)
at THE ROYAL EXCHANGE THEATRE
- 7 May 2022
- The Studio
Where can you meet a woman artist from 1922 Benin, a feisty Ghanian student nurse standing up to a blinkered matron in 1971, and a Jamaican lad going on holiday and suddenly finding himself facing a throng of brothers and sisters he never knew existed?
In a Manchester Community Garden here at the Royal Exchange.
Join the Dominoes and Oware tournament, with music and food too, this is one garden party not to be missed!
DOMINOES AND DAHLIAS [+ OWARE!] has been created with older people from the African and African Caribbean diaspora led by artist Cheryl Martin with musician Clive Hunte.
THE DREAM PROJECT began with a series of creative sessions where DOMINOES AND DAHLIAS [+ OWARE!] developed. It will be performed in our Studio as part of England’s Age of Creativity Festival.
The Royal Exchange Elders programme is funded by The Rayne Foundation.
