Carols, Music and local, Independent Makers
From the Middle English wæs hæil ‘be in (good) health!’. The ancient festive tradition of Wassail is coming to the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Great Hall. In times gone by people sang to orchards for a bountiful harvest and from the 16th Century went to their neighbours offering a song in exchange for food and drink. Step inside our Great Hall for a day of heart-warming wassailing from local choirs and musicians, enjoy the mirth and merriment, and shop for local, independent Christmas gifts all under one roof.
The Rivals cafe and bar will be open throughout the day for warm drinks, cakes and treats and of course, mulled wine and mince pies.
We’re looking for independent creatives, makers, designers, producers, & artists who would be interested in holding their stall at our Wassail fayre. Please contact Amelia firstname.lastname@example.org 0161 615 6763 if you’d like to hold a stall.
