The Royal Exchange Theatre
Your Visit

When coming to the Royal Exchange, we want to make your visit as enjoyable and informative as possible; even before you leave your own home!

The headings below will hopefully assist you and provide useful information about your visit - beforehand, getting here and during your visit. You can also use the list of handy headings to the left for help in How To Find UsAccessibility or How To Contact Us.

Thank you and we hope you have a very enjoyable visit to the Royal Exchange Theatre. (Leave a review)

Before your visit:

Familiarise yourself with the Royal Exchange Theatre and where everything is via our lovely Google Virtual Tour.

Eating and drinking at the Royal Exchange is a dramatic affair. A stylish restaurant, a continental style cafe and welcoming bars - all set with the backdrop of the spectacular Great Hall and Theatre module - offer city centre visitors and theatre goers something truly unique.

So why not make your visit extra special and book a table in The Round restaurant for a spot of lunch or dinner? Open from 12 noon for lunch and for pre-theatre dining from 5pm. Call 0161 615 6666 to reserve your table or use our new online reservation system!

If your time is limited but you still fancy a quick snack beforehand, why not purchase a light bite from the Great Hall cafe? Or relax with friends over a delicious hot beverage or alcoholic drink at Bar Exchange.

And to plan your journey in full, the running times for the shows (where known) are located on each show page. Simply select the event you're attending in our What's On section.

Getting here:

We're situated in the heart of Manchester City Centre, so it can be easy to get a little lost when it comes to finding us (or a parking space). So whether you're walking, coming via public transport or driving, we've put together a handy list of instructions of how to get to us whatever the method.

And if you are driving, check out our discounted parking, available at Market Place car park located within 5 minutes of the Royal Exchange.

As we are city centre based, we recommend you check out what other events are happening in case this delays your journey. You can do this by checking Visit Manchester's wesbite.

We've also put together a handy list of accessible information, including information for people with mobility restrictions, for blind and visually impaired people and for deaf and hearing impaired people.

We have also created this useful tool to aid people in creating your own social stories
- a brilliant resource if you are considering a visit to our theatre with someone with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders).

(A Social Story™ describes a situation, skill, or concept in terms of relevant social cues, perspectives, and common responses in a specifically defined style and format. The goal of a Social Story™ is to share accurate social information in a patient and reassuring manner that is easily understood by its audience. More Information...)

Once you're here:

Whether it's a show in The Theatre or Studio, a Sunday evening concert, a Craft Shop workshop or an Education event, there's also a lot more we have to offer...

- if you're coming to a show, why not purchase your interval drinks beforehand so they're ready and waiting for you?
- check out our free-to-view exhibitions on the Mezzanine Gallery?
- or pop into the Education Lounge to discover behind-the-scenes info?
- browse the Craft Shop for the latest handmade crafts?
- if you're coming to the theatre on Friday, check-out our free Special FX entertainment.
- maybe you'd prefer to read the show programme, which is available to buy at the Box Office, the Information Desk and by our team of ushers on the theatre entrances?
- and now you can surf the internet for free with our WiFi connection (password is internet)
