Theatre is exchange. Be part of it.
Imagination, stories, people, potential. The Exchange is at the heart of a tradition of invention, pushing the boundaries of what it means to create.
Whether you’re creating worlds on stage, working behind the scenes, welcoming audiences or helping the organisation run, you’ll be part of a Company that brings the Exchange to life with every act of creative courage.
Theatre, at its best, is transformative. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a living exchange of ideas and energy that reaches far beyond our stage.
Help us shape what theatre can be — in Manchester, and beyond.
Many talents. Different perspectives. One Company.
From the first spark of an idea to the final applause, our work is a collective effort — and every role helps shape the experience.
We’re building a team that reflects the energy and diversity of Greater Manchester. We particularly welcome applications from people who are underrepresented in our organisation and across the arts sector, including people from the global majority, LGBTQ+ people, D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent and learning disabled people.
Our team includes people working in permanent and fixed-term roles across the organisation, alongside alongside our casual Visitor Experience and Hospitality teams, who help make every visit special. We also work with freelance actors, stage managers, creative teams and technicians, bringing together the talent and expertise each production needs.
There are many ways to work with us, and many different skills, experiences and ideas that make the Exchange what it is.
Making space for everyone to do their best work.
We’re a Disability Confident employer, a Real Living Wage employer and a supporter of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. These commitments reflect our belief in fair pay, good employment practices and creating opportunities for people to thrive.
We welcome conversations about access and the adjustments people need to take part fully in our recruitment process and working environment. If you’re D/deaf or disabled, neurodivergent or learning disabled, and meet the minimum criteria for a role, we guarantee you an interview. We’ll provide reasonable adjustments as required, and we have experience of supporting colleagues through Access to Work.
We follow the social model of disability and recognise that barriers are often created by environments and systems, rather than by individuals. We also understand that people work best in different ways, so flexible working patterns will be considered.
