The tour includes information about the history of the Royal Exchange building, the work and history of the Theatre Company and an insight into the production process.

It is important to keep in mind that the Royal Exchange Theatre is a working theatre, and sometimes certain parts of the building are not accessible. Nevertheless we endeavour to make your visit to the Exchange as exciting and pleasurable as possible.

Please note tours involve walking, standing and stairs.

Tours cost £5 per person and are bookable via the Box Office on 0161 833 9833 or via email

The tour ends with Tea/Coffee & Biscuits (included in the ticket price), which will be served from Bar Exchange.

Groups can book a traditional afternoon tea, to be served in the Great Hall post tour, for just £12.75 each (tour included in the ticket price).

These tours are aimed at those aged 9+.

Enquiries from schools and colleges, or for children under 9 years of age who may be interested in having a tour should contact Education on 0161 615 6697 or via email.
