We're delighted to announce that The Rivals are offering pre-show cheeseboards by the award winning Chorlton Cheesemongers.

Our Cheeseboards will be available to order for 2 hours pre-show (12 noon – 2pm and 5pm – 7pm) and include 3 handpicked Irish cheeses to complement the production of DANCING AT LUGHNASA.

  • CASHEL BLUE (cow’s milk pasteurised, vegetarian rennet)A youngish, soft, gentle blue cheese created in ireland in 1984. Made by the Grubbs, Fethard, Tipperary.
  • TEMPLEGALL (raw cow’s milk, vegetarian coagulant)An alpine-style cheese from Whitechurch, Cork. Its name comes from the Irish ‘An Teampall Gael’, meaning Whitechurch.
  • GUBBEEN (pasteurised cow’s milk, traditional rennet)An Irish cheese made in West Cork with highly diluted white wine. ‘Gubbeen means ‘little mouthful’.

Our cheeseboards are priced at £10 and are served with Sheridans handmade irish Crackers, and a pear & walnut chutney. (Gluten-free crackers available)

For just £20 you can also get 2 medium glasses of house wine, or you can upgrade to a bottle of house wine for £30.
