The Royal Exchange Theatre address is St Ann's Square, Manchester, M2 7DH.
Box Office: 0161 833 9833 | Stage Door/Reception: 0161 833 9333

There are two public entrances: one on Cross Street with steps only; one on St Ann's Square, with a lift straight to Box Office. This entrance is always open during performances. (For more information about 'Access' please click here)

Due to the planned second Metrolink line, there is extensive road works being undertaken around the Royal Exchange Theatre in the coming months. Please be advised that this could impact on your journey to the theatre and you may need to allow yourself extra time to travel!

Cross St. is now also ONE WAY if you are planning dropoff and or pickup!


By Metrolink: Metrolink's nearest tram stop is Market Street, a 5 minute walk from the Theatre. St Peter's Square/Library is the most convenient stop if coming from the Altrincham direction.

By Bus: The Theatre is within 15 minutes walk of all major city centre bus stops.

By Taxi: There are 2 Hackney Carriage waiting areas within walking distance of the Royal Exchange. For Manchester Radio Cars, please call 0161 236 8033. Then there's the UGO Cabfinder. Available on Apple iOS and Android, simply download the free UGO Cabfinder app. The web-based version and further details can be found at ugocabfinder.co.uk.
By Train: Piccadilly railways station is a 15 minute walk from the Theatre. Victoria station is a 10 minute walk and Oxford Road station is 15 minutes away. Trains to Manchester are available from Transpennine Express - they charge no booking fees when buying tickets online.


There are over 3000 car parking spaces within a 10 minute walk of the Theatre. Car parks with evening opening close to the theatre include: Market Place multi-storey by the Renaissance Hotel (320 spaces); High Street multi-storey above the Arndale Centre (1450 spaces) and Manchester Evening News Arena Car Park (1000 spaces).


Royal Exchange patrons can get 5 hours parking for just £5 at Market Place NCP. Simply validate your parking ticket at the Box Office, and your parking will be automatically discounted when you return to the car park. There is a drop off point for coaches on Cross Street. Waiting time is restricted to 15 minutes. There are some access restrictions in place during the day, these are marked on the above map. The nearest coach park is on Sheffield Street, near Piccadilly rail station. The coach park is open 24 hours and operates on a pay and display basis.
