The Tony Award-winning musical sensation about growing up, coming out and coming home.

‘I think we’re alike in a certain way…’

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Fun Home is a funny, heartfelt and deeply moving coming-of-age story. Join cartoonist Alison Bechdel as she looks back on growing up in her family’s funeral home in rural Pennsylvania, coming out and her complicated relationship with her larger-than-life father. As past and present intertwine, Alison uncovers family secrets and unexpected connections, revealing a powerful story of love, loss and discovering who you really are.

Adapted from Alison Bechdel’s iconic graphic memoir, Fun Home is brought to life with a soaring score by Jeanine Tesori and a witty, heartfelt book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, to create one of the most acclaimed and much-loved musicals of the 21st century.

Marking the memoir’s 20th anniversary, this new production is directed by Sarah Frankcom, celebrating her 30th production for the Royal Exchange, and stars Jodie McNee as Alison alongside award-winning actor Nigel Harman as Bruce Bechdel.
