Renowned stage and screen actor Elliot Levey leads cast of The Mighty Walzer
Elliot Levey, who can be seen on our screens in the BBC’s celebratory screening of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM will lead an outstanding cast of ten in our world premiere of THE MIGHTY WALZER an adaptation of Howard Jacobson’s hilarious coming-of-age novel.
Directed by Jonathan Humphreys and adapted by Simon Bent from the novel by Man Booker Prize winning author Howard Jacobson, this sharply comic coming of age story follows Levey’s Oliver as he discovers the fast paced world of ping-pong and the wonderfully enigmatic Lorna Peachley. He is joined on stage by Tracy-Ann Oberman, recognised for her explosive role as Chrissy Watts in EASTENDERS and the powerful Yvonne Hartman in DR. WHO, who plays his matriarch mother Sadie Walzer.
This homage to the Manchester of Jacobson’s youth is completed by a cast that includes Daniel Abelson, Joe Coen, David Crellin, Ilan Goodman, Ann Marcuson, James Parris, Lily Sacofsky and Jonathan Tafler.
