On Monday 10 November, our Company of Elders travelled down to Stoke to meet up with the New Vic Theatre's Ages and Stages group for a day long collaborative workshop.
"We spent a full day taking part in practical drama activities and discussion around the power of stories, storytelling and theatre and we were able to share with the New Vic our piece THE GOOSE GIRL AT THE SPRING. In the evening we watched Northern Broadsides production of SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER. The day felt like a great success in bringing together the two groups and continuing our conversation with the New Vic about ways we might continue to work together in the future." Andy Barry, Adults' Programme Leader at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
Our current Company of Elders involves 20 members and in 2015 we will be looking to grow the company to include upto 40 participants. The Elders will continue with a core programme of skills-based sessions each week, alongside a number of satellite projects, which will offer opportunities for Elders to work with our Young Company.
