This event for young people is a space to be yourself and connect before watching the show

Running from 5:30pm – 7:30pm

For young people, organised by young people, the pre-show event #BeEarnest for The Importance of Being Earnest promises to be a welcoming space for people aged 14-30 to come together and socialise before the curtain opens on Oscar Wilde’s popular play.

#BeEarnest, is a space for you to be yourself, in your own comfort zone, with other young people in Manchester. So step into this space for: music, craft activities, a photo booth, quizzes, a confessions wall, live music, and free nibbles & mocktails.

Please note this event event will be photographed.

I’M IN! HOW DO I GET A TICKET?

To attend this event, all you need to do is buy a ticket for the main show on 15 July. There will be £5 tickets on the day at box office with the code BEEARNEST. If buying a ticket isn’t possible for you but you’d love to come, we have some free tickets, please email engage@royalexchange.co.uk with your request or if you have any questions. Parents and friends are welcome to attend too if you don’t want to come alone.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Comfortable seating will be available with sofas and bean bags around the venue; and there will be live music from young musicians local to Greater Manchester

There will be a designated quiet space located away from the main hub, in case anybody feels they need a moment away from the action. Additionally, colour coded wristbands will be an available to let others know if you’re comfortable socialising with others or if you would rather remain independent throughout the event, depending on the colour you are wearing.

We don’t want anyone to stress about a dress code, or for it to be restricting or limiting in any way, so we actively encourage you to turn up in your most comfortable clothing (even pyjamas/onesies are welcome!)

We look forward to welcoming you to the event!
