Members of our Young Company, in collaboration with internationally renowned writer Jackie Kay MBE and Associate Artistic Director, Matthew Xia, are edging closer to performance date for BRINK

Opening night for the Company’s 2014-15 show, BRINK, is just six weeks away. Receiving its world premiere on 26 March in The Studio, the Company are starting to reach the mid-point in their journeys to performance date;

Young Writers, having given Jackie some potential ideas and starters for BRINK, have moved on to creating their own material to be included in the show. They’ve explored the concept of ‘brinking’ – moments of big decisions and crossing over into something new as well as thinking of The Brink as a place where young people gather to make these choices.

The Young Communicators have been responsible for the marketing campaign for the show. After reading through excerpts from the performance, they have written the design brief, copy for leaflets and for the website. Over the coming weeks will be documenting rehearsals, creating press releases and aiming to get #brinking trending across Twitter!

Meanwhile, the Young Design Technicians are beginning to get some ideas for a set – an innovative stage for The Studio, able to move with the performance and create a variety of locations is starting to come together.

And finally the Young Performers, consisting of an ensemble cast of twenty, are tasked with working alongside Associate Artistic Director, Matthew Xia, to bring BRINK to the stage.

Over the coming weeks we will be bring you updates, interviews and sneak previews from BRINK. In the meantime, check out Twitter for more regular #brinking updates.IMG 8521
