The cupboards are bare and the night is full of fires, there are witches in the wood and the cities have new names...

A little girl struggles for survival in a sinister fairytale landscape. As the soldiers overrun the villages, who knows what song to sing?

THE PEOPLE ARE SINGING is a brand new play developed by award-winning UK playwright Lizzie Nunnery and Ukrainian director Tamara Trunova, who makes her UK debut after being brought together to collaborate as part of the World Stages project.
