WRESTLING THE WALRUS
Winner of the 2018 Hodgkiss Award
- 28 June 2019 - 6 July 2019
- The Studio
WRESTLING THE WALRUS is a playful and poignant tale of two people who form an unlikely bond over a series of chance encounters.
A young woman spots an elderly man sitting alone on a park bench and decides to share her lunch with him. The next day the same thing happens. As their meetings continue, they share stories from their lives, but the man becomes a little unsettled and – perhaps that first chance encounter was no accident.
A new play about companionship, connections and the millions of tiny memories that make up someone’s history. It is a suitcase full of stories collected over a lifetime, unpacked to reveal the people we are, the people we could be and what happens when we forget to pack the right things.
With two actors and three musicians all performing live onstage, woven together with animation and projected film, expect a captivating feast for the senses.
154 Collective is an international group of theatre makers, visual artists, animators, musicians and writers who come together to tell new stories in innovative and captivating ways.
