Interested in bringing your work to the Royal Exchange Theatre? Please see below for more information and what to do next...
What we do:
Each year the Royal Exchange Theatre produces and presents theatre and participation / learning programmes over two seasons. Most of this work is created and produced in collaboration with freelance creative teams and individual artists, other theatre companies, and communities.
Each season we present a varied programme with a strong commitment to staging riveting revivals and championing new work. Our Studio is also home to work presented by the most distinctive and imaginative touring companies, and it’s where our pioneering work with communities in Manchester finds expression.
Known for producing classics such as William Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward and Anton Chekhov, we're also one of the country's leading theatres for new writing.
We run programmes for theatre artists and practitioners at different stages of their careers to learn and develop the skills needed for their craft.
Who to contact & what to send:
We’re always interested in hearing from local, national and international artists interested in working across our spaces. We don’t offer straight hires or spaces for public performances; instead all work is programmed into our artistic season and should ideally be a Manchester or North-west premiere.
If you’re sending a tourpack please include links to video recordings and photos where possible. All emails personally addressed to Royal Exchange staff will be responded to, but we often hold emails on file until we start programming the relevant season, so replies may come a few weeks after sending. Please note that any emails with attachments totalling over 4MB may be blocked by our servers.
