WE WANT YOU TO KNOW...
- Our theatre projects are for everyone
- Being high quality doesn’t mean being posh
- Our projects are about theatre, not only acting and drama
- We aspire to be innovative
- Some things are free and we help with payment for others
- We make work in partnership with others wherever we can
At the Royal Exchange we want people to get as much out of their theatre experience as possible. The Education Department offers people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences the chance to explore every aspect of theatre, to get involved in creative projects, take part in tours, discussions, play readings and talks, and to make the Royal Exchange their own. In all of our work we seek to develop partnership links – with schools, practitioners, other agencies and arts organisations across Greater Manchester and beyond.
The work of Exchange Education is very much about the theatre’s repertoire and its unique building. Wherever appropriate, we lead sessions in the theatre and we frequently work with different departments around the building to give participants an insight into how theatre, and particularly the Royal Exchange, works. We aim to offer an exciting, engaging and inclusive programme of activities. Please browse our pages to find out more about the work that we do with schools, young people, community groups and theatre enthusiasts of all ages.
