As part of the Elders Festival in September, Andy is very excited be creating a new Elders Company show:
“Creating new work with the Elders has always been one of the many highlights of the job. In 2018, we created Moments That Changed Our World, which also toured to Cheetham and Rochdale. I’ve also had the privilege of making intergenerational shows including The Space Between Us (2017) and Wit & Wisdom (2021). To be creating a new production in this our tenth anniversary year is a real treat.”
At this stage, what exactly the show will be is very loose. I would like to create a new piece of work with a core company of between 10 and 15 performers. The show will include music (created with Bill Connor) and there may be wider opportunities for more performers to take part. At this stage we are still thinking about and discovering exactly what it will be.”
The first stage of the production process is to hold some research and development sessions (R&D) to explore possible ideas of what the production might look and feel like. The R&D sessions will help generate ideas for content, themes, and style and help Andy develop his creative thinking for the production.
These R&D sessions are for Elders graduate or current Company members only.
Taking part in one of these session is not a commitment from you or a guarantee from us of taking part in the final production. Separate audition sessions will happen nearer the time. It is an early stage taster to explore content, topics and ideas for what the final show might be about.
Andy will be holding two sessions (you should only attend one).
