This November, the Royal Exchange Theatre is staging a free-spirited and gloriously rude reimagining of Derek Jarman’s classic punk movie Jubilee.

With a cast led by one of the film’s original cast members, legendary punk warrior Toyah Willcox, it’s going to be a giddy riot of music, fashion, art and sex.

We are looking for a group of participants to take part in the show, specifically to perform in a key scene set in an outrageous underground club venue.

We are looking for a genuinely diverse range of people – from club kids to fetish fans; queer teens to drag queens; New Romantic throwbacks to old-school riot grrrls; and old punks and young punks alike. We’re seeking to represent a real variety of cultural backgrounds, body types, ages and styles.

You don’t have to be an experienced performer, but must be comfortable about performing on stage, and working on a show containing strong language, nudity, sex and violence. Because of this content, all participants in Jubilee must be 18+.

Please note – these roles are unpaid but travel expenses can be reimbursed.

If you are interested, we are holding an introductory session to give you a feel for the show and see if it’s for you, and allow the team here to meet you. We will put together our ensemble after this session.

Important dates for you to know before applying:

• Sat 7th October - Introductory Session
You will be invited to a 2 hour slot to come and find out more about the show.

• If selected, you will then need to be available for a 2 hour evening session on Wednesday 11, Wednesday 18 and Wednesday 25 October.

• From Tuesday 31 October, you must be available for technical rehearsals every evening leading up to the opening night on Thursday 2 November. The production then runs until 18 November, with 18 public performances in total including some matinee shows.

We appreciate that you may not be able to commit to every show but we would need you to be in at least 60% of performances.
