OUR 2022 SEASON

We are delighted to be able to share live theatre with you. The Royal Exchange continues to monitor the Covid situation in the UK. Should changes occur we will adjust our plans and policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all visitors and staff.

Currently, we are offering some Socially Distanced performances for our 2022 programme. In these performances, all booking is arranged in clusters with at least 1 metre of space between groups, and all staff will be wearing masks.

The upcoming socially distanced shows are:

THE GLASS MENAGERIE on Wed 14 September at 2:30pm & Sat 1 October at 2.30pm

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN on Wed 2 November at 2.30pm & Sat 12 November at 2.30pm

BETTY! on Wed 17 December 2022 at 2.30pm & Wed 14 January 2023 at 2.30pm

All socially distanced shows are labelled with SD on the performance schedules, which can be found on each show page. They are also clearly marked on each performance’s seating plan.

If you have any questions at all regarding your visit, please contact our Visitor Experience Team

OUR OPENING HOURS

As well as being open for performances, The Royal Exchange is now open in the daytime once more. From 11am to 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday, The Rivals Café will be serving hot drinks, cakes and snacks; meanwhile, a member of our Visitor Experience Team will be on hand to help with ticketing enquiries.

  • How To Book and Ticket Prices
  • You can purchase tickets on our website. To book, please visit tickets.royalexchange.co.uk

If you are visiting us in person, we are open 11am-5pm Monday to Saturday and tickets can be purchased from our Visitor Experience Team based at the St Ann’s entrance.

We are currently operating with e-tickets only. When your booking is complete, whether online or in person, you will receive two emails. The first email will be your Order Confirmation. The second email will contain your e-tickets. You'll need the e-tickets within this email to show upon entry to the Theatre. If you don't receive this email, you can check your online account and once logged in, scroll down to the option 'E-Tickets' and all your current and past e-tickets will be here. If your tickets aren't here or there is a problem downloading them, please contact our Visitor Experience Team.

We are now offering most performances at full capacity for 2022.

Selected performances for each show in 2022 will be fully socially distanced. For these events, seating is arranged in socially distanced clusters, which are groups of tickets containing a specific number of seats (1, 2, 3 or 4) next to each other in one row. Please choose where to sit based on the number of seats you need.

If you need assistance with booking your ticket, or have an issue that needs resolving, please contact our Visitor Experience Team

Tickets for our 2022 season are now on sale.

Announcements about further events (for example, from our Young Company) will be coming soon, so please continue to check our website and social media for details. You can also sign up to our mailing list to receive updates straight to your inbox.

  • Getting to the Royal Exchange Theatre
  • Our address is the Royal Exchange Theatre, St Ann’s Square, Manchester M2 7DH.

For information on public transport and parking, please see our How To Find Us page

Please note: due to ongoing construction work, and the introduction of ‘BUSES ONLY’ if approaching from Chapel Street, some customers are encountering delays due to queuing traffic in the area surrounding the Q park, car park.

Visitors using the Q Park should only approach the car park from the Great Ducie Street / Victoria Street direction. Please take this into consideration when planning your travel.

Please also be aware that the Q Park is open but may look closed if the automatic security barrier is down as you approach. Please be assured this will lift as you drive up close to the entrance.
