Pomona Stars - 2 lines

Ollie's sister is missing.  Searching Manchester in desperation, she finds all roads lead to Pomona, an abandoned concrete island at the heart of the city. Here at the centre of everything, journeys end and nightmares are born.

Pomona is a sinister and surreal thriller from Alistair McDowall, writer of Talk Show (Royal Court), Brilliant Adventures (Royal Exchange Theatre, Bruntwood Prize winner), and Captain Amazing (Live Theatre Newcastle).

Directed by Ned Bennett - the 2015 UK Theatre Award winner for Best Director for POMONA and YEN.

"It's thrilling to be able to bring Pomona to the city in which it's set. The iconic stage at the Royal Exchange is the perfect setting for our surreal tale of urban myths and nightmares; and with the real Pomona just down the road, the play will take on an even more immediate resonance." Ned Bennett

"One of the most exciting experiences of a new play I've had in years.  You must see it" Simon Stephens

"Pomona is fantastic.  Astonishingly slippery and dark thriller, a twisted game or fairytale in which monsters are all too real."  Lyn Gardner, Guardian Top 10 Theatre of 2014

★ "a fierce dystopian drama with terrific comic edge." Susannah Clapp, The Observer
