"You was always good at secrets. Both of yer."

Frankie's dead. And no-one's quite sure why. But the boys won't talk about it. They can't. There are some truths that men can't share.

So Here We Are is a play about what can happen when nothing happens.

Playwright and actor Luke Norris, offers a compassionate look at young lives cut short and a touching portrait of childhood friendships under strain in adult life.

Winner of a 2013 Bruntwood Award Prize for Playwriting, this HighTide / Royal Exchange Theatre co-production is directed by Steven Atkinson, the award-winning artistic director of HighTide.

"So Here We Are is a really universal play that explores being trapped by your childhood and the difficulties of making big changes.  Growing up in the North West, the Exchange inspired me to work in theatre.  I'm thrilled to be directing my first production here." –Steven Atkinson

There will be a preview performance at the Royal Exchange Theatre on Saturday 5 September 2.00pm. SO HERE WE ARE plays the HighTide Festival from 10 – 20 September.
