Fancy one for the ROAD? The Royal Exchange Theatre is launching a brand new creative performance piece inspired by our production of Jim Cartwright’s masterpiece ROAD, and we’re looking for Tameside residents to be a part of it.

Following the success of THE DEN FESTIVAL at Stalybridge Civic Hall, the Royal Exchange Theatre is back to create a new piece of work with residents that explores who are the characters you meet on your ROAD in Tameside. Led by our Associate Director, Emma Baggott, you’ll create and develop a live performance piece that’s shaped by the town and the people in it. As part of the project, you’ll also get a free visit to Royal Exchange Theatre to watch their production of ROAD, starring Johnny Vegas, Lucy Beaumont, Jake Dunn and more!

No experience needed!
Whether you’re curious, creative or just up for something new, this is your chance to:

  • Take part in creative workshops to co-create a show
  • Explore creative outlets like poetry, spoken word, monologues, photography, movement, writing, performing and any other way to express yourself!
  • Discover a new side of your creativity

All Tameside residents aged 18+ are welcome, you could be a performer, a writer or someone just wanting to try something new!
