The Young Company (RXTheatreYC) is the Royal Exchange’s resident company for people aged 14 -25 who want to train as Associates, Communicators, Directors, Facilitators, Performers, Producers, Technicians and Writers.
Membership of the Young Company starts in September and lasts until the following July, providing 12 months of in-depth training and practical opportunities to help you develop, create and grow at the heart of a producing theatre. We recruit once a year with a series of practical workshops and a written application (usually between May and July). What does being a Young Company member entail? - Regular group skills sessions - Additional opportunities to make, watch and learn more about theatre, including - Monthly masterclasses - Production opportunities – including a studio show, a devised show and a show made in collaboration with the Elders’ Company – all of which will involve every group of the Young Company in every aspect of producing a show - Projects – make your own work and test new ideas - Free tickets to all our main house shows - Mentoring from theatre staff as well as auditioning to be part of ensembles in main house productions.
