A PROGRAMME THAT ENCOURAGES MEMBERS OF OUR YOUNG AND ELDERS COMPANY TO TALK, PLAY AND BE TOGETHER.

"I have less of a fear about growing up, seeing what the older generation were capable of and hearing what they accomplished in life is a real comfort" Young Company member

"Some really engaging discussion at the Intergen forum this morning. It was great to hear Young Company and Elders alike talking openly and honestly about gender issues. I'm sure a few of us are looking at ourselves differently now."  Elders Company member

In 2012, our Truth about Youth Festival brought together younger and older people in a unique production called MY YOUNG AND FOOLISH HEART. Following this, we wanted to find more ways for younger and older people to spend time together.

Since the formation of our Elders Company in 2014, we regularly find ways for our Young Company and Elders Company members to be together. This might be hanging out together at Press Nights, taking part in discussion sessions and skills workshop or making art together.

In 2020, we created CONNECT FEST, which explored our relationship to music and resulted in an ambitious five-part series online. You can also read our Learning report on this page.

In 2019, we created ADIEU, a leaving party, a live conversation, an evening to contemplate our national identity.

In 2017, we created THE SPACE BETWEEN US, which asked how are we different, how are we the same and what does it mean to be human?

In 2015 FLICKER AND THE FLYING BOOKS for young audiences as part of The Manchester Book Festival and revived for our own Great Big Noise Festival in 2016.
