Welcome to Rochdale where we are in year one of our residency. Watch out for the Den festival in 2024!

Our latest residency is in Rochdale, where we are starting to get to know the community and find out more about what they are passionate about. Working in partnership with Cartwheel Arts and Rochdale Borough Council, we will be focusing our work in Rochdale Town Centre, Middleton and Heywood.

We have made links with Deeplish Community Centre, Awakening Minds and Soul Sisters and are looking forward to developing these further. We have connected with the Rochdale Borough Culture Network and started plans to connect with schools and young people in the area.

If you are an organisation from the area and want to get involved and find out more about our the projects we’ll be developing in the area, please get in touch with Esme at esme.moszynska@royalexchange.co.uk.

Interested in getting involved?

We have now recruited a brilliant group of local Ambassadors who will work with the Royal Exchange to create the activity in Rochdale. However you can get involved with us in many other ways!

For Elders

Elders Mondays take place on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at the Royal Exchange Theatre. Elders Mondays are a creative drop-in sessions or workshops, an are the perfect way for older people to stay connected and remain creative.

There is no experience necessary to join any of our Elders Monday sessions and people who join us later say things like… “Give it a try. You don’t know what you can do until you try. Push yourself and try something new. The people are great to work with and talk to. Nobody is right or wrong.”
